All Souls Church from BBC New Broadcasting

The front Stairwell
All Souls Church is the work of architect John Nash. This
building sits at the top of Regent Street and is a famous landmark.
Incredibly, this church was offered to the BBC in 1930, to either
part or totally demolish to improve the view of the newly built
Broadcasting House and to build a replacement Music Hall.
The BBC declined the offer, although the trustees returned later the same year and asked the BBC once more if they had changed their minds on the matter.
Again the BBC declined (thankfully).
The original letters offering the chuch are held in archive at
BBC Caversham.
